Hello! In this episode I stay local. I paint the scene using gradients and I have a wandering caterpillar to deal with.
I do all this while holding a camera above my head! I hope this video inspires you to sketch and paint outdoors. This painting which I painted last year has been chosen for a winter exhibition in Nacka Konsthall, Sickla – not far from the centre of Stockholm. It’s very pleasing of course and I look forward to the opening of the exhibition on the 23rd of November. The painting which was chosen is called, Gröna Lund and is 70 x 50 cm in size. The painting has travelled a lot, it was in the ECWS exhibition in Haapsalu, Estonia during the summer. It’s always an honour to represent Sweden in these European Watercolour Society exhibitions.
The painting is for sale, 7500 sek or 5000 sek unframed.
The opening of the Exhibition is Saturday 23rd of November at 13.00 The exhibition is from the 23 rd of November until the 12th of January 2020.
I never know whether to call it figure painting or life drawing, I guess it’s more correct to call them figure paintings but they were executed in minutes and not hours, maybe you understand my dilemma.
These, whatever you call them were sketched at my own life drawing class last Friday. It was the first time for the model to pose and I think she did a great job. I managed a few decent paintings even though I wasn’t 100% relaxed as I was responsible for the evening. I am happy with my output right now, it’s a productive period.
Hi, to anyone who attends my life drawing evenings at Dieselverkstaden.
This Friday there will be no life drawing class due to Alla helgons dag (All Saints Day). The next “Meldrum Kroki will be on the 9th of November. Welcome!
I started Meldrum Kroki last October and it has been a great success, I have learned so much and it has been so much fun running life drawing sessions from my living room. A big thank you to all who came, the models included – everybody has contributed to making this a success.
Friday the 7th of September Meldrum Kroki starts again after the summer break at 18.30 at Dieselverkstad in Sickla, Stockholm.
You are all welcome! 😀
