It was not a serious crime. I camped outside the designated camping area on the island of Utö in June. A large part of Utö belongs to the Swedish millitary, They have a shooting range, not just guns, but big guns if you know what I mean. Anyway, I didn’t camp anywhere near the millitary area. I painted two watercolours during my three day visit to the island. I will publish a video of the experience at a later date. Here is the first of those two watercolours. It’s a simple composition, it was a actually a struggle, but aren’t all paintings just that, a struggle, one can only hope for a happy ending.
Finally, finally, I have managed to complete the editing of this video. It was originally filmed in October 2023 on the island of Utö in the Stockholm archipelago. There was plenty of wind, rain and frustration.
I visited Utö during the month of September to spend two days camping and painting. The island was so quiet, the evenings can be cool but if you are lucky you can still get a beautiful warm day.
This video has no dialog, instead I thought I’d let the sound of the lapping water and the beautiful view speak for themselves. The film is short, 7 minutes long.
I have included a description of the gear I used in the film down below. I hope you enjoy it, please do send me comments and let me know what you think – be it good or bad. You can support the making of these videos, visit my crowdfunding page, there you can follow my weekly vlogs, see bonus material, and even receive original watercolours as thanks. https://www.patreon.com/meldrumart
