Midsummer’s eve in central Stockholm

Stockholm is empty on midsummer’s eve, only tourists walk the streets. Swedes are celebrating the year’s mid-point out in the country side and the archipelago. I decided to go for a cycle into town late in the afternoon and did this watercolour sketch of Stockholm’s Town Hall.

Stockholm Town Hall, A5 watercolour, Moleskin note book.

Thank you! 🙂 I'm feeling quite frustrated these days, too many things to do that get in the way of my watercolouring. I can see light at the end of the tunnel though. 🙂

Cool, I really like Stadshuset in your version! We were also in the city at Midsummer, took the chance to drive around in the small streets at Söder where you can hardly go otherwise because it´s too crowded. Stockholm is very magic when it´s empty.

Thank you Nina! Yes, I agree, Stockholm is beautiful when it is peaceful. See you on Sunday I hope for the end of month sketching, it would be wonderful if everyone turned up from the sketch group.
