Jal Mahal (Lake Palace), Jaipur

Plein air watercolour, painted in the early morning when the sun was behind the lake palace.
36 x 26 cm

I was invited to participate in an Eco-Art project painting plein air in the towns of Udaipur and Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. I was there for the month of March in 2020. It was a beautiful experience with a twist – ending with a pandemic, cancelled flights and a bit of luck to finally get home one day before the lock-down of India.
Here is a short background description of the event: International Plein-Air Expedition ART-ECO2019/20: A Socio-Cultural Project, in collaboration with Saint Petersburg Centre for Humanitarian Programmes and with support from Russian Centre for Science and Culture (RCSC), New Delhi,Rajasthan Art & Culture department and Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi.
