David Meldrum Japan watercolor Watercolour

Memories from Japan

I was in Japan just after Christmas. I was visiting my son who has put down roots in Tokyo. It’s an amazing place. This watercolour was painted from a photo I took outside a bazaar in Nasukarasuyama north of Tokyo.

Wonderful watercolor, you also master stilllife, fantastic ceramic effect, great composition, nice palette. Everything works.Congratulations. TRavelling suits you.

Thank you setxu! I was happy enough with this watercolour. The central vase is good and the left hand side of the painting is approved too. At least I think so. The rest could be better. I have several reference photos and I plan to paint this subject again. It was fun.
